Many of the companies who have gone through layoffs are those that would have held a layoff or resume gaps or job hopping against you 3 years ago. There might be a silver lining to the mass layoffs, hiring freezes, and general volatility in the workplace over the last few years.

Remaining staffers will have the opportunity to transition to analyst roles. Morning Consult is "dissolving" its newsroom, resulting in some layoffs, according to The Washington Post. Taxbit, a crypto tax software startup, has cut nearly 40% of its employees, approximately 80 workers. Twenty journalists were let go, while another 20 were moved to other assignments. Nearly 4% of The Athletic's newsroom has been laid off as part of a reorganization.
